Elegant Architectural is a UK-based architectural practice delivering residential and commercial projects across planning, design, and technical stages from domestic extensions through to community halls and council-led developments.

The Problem

As Elegant Architectural began winning larger and more complex projects, a gap opened up between the quality of their work and how it appeared online. The website they had built their early reputation on was designed for a smaller practice - and it showed.

For a firm now presenting to councils, housing developers, and public-sector clients, the mismatch was costing them. Prospective clients forming a first impression would find a portfolio that didn't reflect the scale of what the practice was capable of delivering. Higher-value opportunities were being lost before any conversation had taken place.

The Approach

In Check Software built a design-led website on Ghost CMS, structured around large-format project imagery and clearly organised portfolio galleries. The platform was chosen specifically to give Antony and the team full independence - new projects, photography, and case material can be uploaded and published without any technical involvement.

A key part of the brief was visual consistency. Elegant Architectural works across projects of very different scales, and photography arrives in varying formats and aspect ratios. In Check Software introduced image standardisation tooling to ensure every project presented cleanly and consistently, regardless of source material - giving the portfolio a coherent, professional quality across the board.

The result was a platform the practice could own, maintain, and grow - one that would keep pace with their portfolio as the work continued to scale.

Since launch, Elegant Architectural has moved decisively into a higher tier of project work - winning commissions from councils and large developers that would previously have been out of reach.
